Two weeks ago we got to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our baby boy with a baby shower in our home. I’m so thankful for the friends and family that were able to join us, especially those that made the long drive from out of town. The theme was sweet, simple and clean, nothing too over the top. My lovely friends Nicole and Stefanie helped with planning because as they stated, “You can’t plan your own baby shower.” I couldn’t help being involved in every aspect though because I’m such a planner. I love them so much for letting me be so involved 🙂

Refreshment Table

Instead of the traditional cake or cupcakes for sweets, we opted for a natural alternative by setting out a variety of fruits. Plastic cups were prepared ahead of time with a vanilla flavored Greek yogurt and guests were free to add their choice of fruit and granola. My sweet friend Nicole made an early morning trip to the Winco bakery and picked up fresh bagels the morning of. So there was also a generous variety of bagel flavors and three different flavors of cream cheese. Yum!

Onesie Making Station

This was such a fun idea and I love that our guests were able to actively participate in making something that our baby boy would actually use! A variety of onesie sizes as well as a variety of baby quotes were laid out so each guest could choose their own unique combination. The instructions were simple: choose a onesie, choose a quote, center the wording onto the onesie until it looks good visually, cover the words with a white cloth and place an iron over the top for 30 seconds. After removing the iron and the white cloth, the vinyl transfer paper was to be slowly removed and the words would remain on the onesie. If the words began to lift at all, the transfer paper should be laid back down, white cloth placed back on and the iron applied for 15 more seconds.

Favors

My mom provided the succulents for the favors. I really enjoyed putting these together with the amazing help of my daughter. It was a fun mother/daughter project. We purchased a small bag of potting soil and planted the baby succulents in plastic cups. We wrapped the cups in brown paper and tied them in twine for a rustic/bohemian feel. I love the idea of celebrating new life by gifting favors of baby succulents that our guests could watch grow.

PARTY DETAILS:

The refreshment table decor included a chalkboard sign, lanterns and greenery in white pots on a gray table cloth. The chalkboard sign and lanterns I scored recently at a yard sale! I love treasure hunting and was so exited to find them. The small white pot and plant were purchased from Ikea. The white pitcher is from Home Goods and the artificial eucalyptus inside is from Amazon, as well as the gray table cloth.

At the onesie making station, a matching gray table cloth was used as the base. White Ikea pots & plants were set on either side for little pops of color. The letter board was purchased from Amazon, as well as the onesie making supplies: a 15-pack of Gerber onesies in a variety of sizes, black heat transfer vinyl and a Cricut Explore Air 2 bundle (which I’m loving by the way!). The quotes that were printed on the heat transfer vinyl and ironed onto the onesies were purchased then downloaded from Etsy.

The baby succulents for the favors were from my mom’s garden. The clear plastic cups were picked up from the grocery store, while the brown paper and twine were purchased from Amazon. The cutest brown letter board was borrowed from my friend Nicole.

Below are Amazon affiliate links to the exact items I’ve purchased, as well as some close substitutes if you’re interested in shopping the looks above.
